FAQ
These are some of the questions we are asked most frequently and we have enclosed them here along with the answers.
A: FAQ is an acronym for "frequently asked questions."
Q: When was Cornishware first produced?
A: No one is absolutely sure for certain and there will be quite a few years suggested if you ask different people. It is clear that it was produced somewhere between 1924 and 1929.
Q: Who produces Cornishware now?
A: Chomette Dornberger are the new owners of T G Green Limited. They are currently restarting production of the iconic blue and white striped wares in China. The Company have raised the phoenix from the ashes and are very committed to re-establishing the products for us to enjoy for years and generations to come. There will be a Artisanal Factory in the UK which will produce the Special Editions for the serious collector.
A: There are an awful lot of retailers out there. You are welcome to try and search for a replacement item on Ebay or with a whole host of other sites. We offer a free service to allow you to list what you are looking for. Retailers have been known to respond if they have a piece that is available. All we ask for is your email address to allow the person to contact you directly. We have been really successful for some quite rare items.Take a look at our WANTED! page for pieces that are currently wanted by some of our readers.

A: NO. We are not paid or owned by T G Green Limited. We are an independant pair of committed collectors, who have put an awful lot of effort into creating a website for the benefit of other collectors. We did this as we struggled to find information ourselves when we started our personal collecting habit. We have been rewarded by being recognised by T G Green Limited as the Guardians of the Only Official Cornish Blue Collectors Club. We do not receive any wages, commission, or for profit payments. We are independent to T G Green Limited. We do however work closely with them in submitting your ideas, comments and suggestions for future product developments.
Q: Does your cat Sam really eat from the Butter Dish?
A: Well actually NO. We do not allow our pets to eat from OUR crockery. We are clean living folks! They have their own Judith Onions Mini Casserole Dish which they use on high days and holidays! Thanks to Pat for donating this.
Q: Isn't it a pity that its now made in China?
A: Well we have to sort of disagree there. If it wasn't made there it probably wouldn't have been made at all for future generations to come. The previous owners struggled to make it pay and hundreds lost their jobs. Britain is too expensive to manufacture in. The factory was tumbling down and the seconds outnumbered the first quality pieces. The new owners are very committed to returning Cornishware to its rightful iconic place in British History. There are future plans to return it to UK Manufacture at some point in the future. The product is as good as it ever was and will be great quality. We've seen it and we approve.
Q: When will the new product be in the Shops?
A: As soon as we know we'll let you know. Retailers are already ordering and it is hope that it will be VERY soon.
